First of all, the wealthiest Americans already have more money than they will ever need in their lifetimes. Many of them are also affiliated with industries which alone are making billions/year, and thus the money never stops coming in. Like all Americans, these individuals (I would assume) pay taxes, and the money that they recieve in tax returns could quite possibly equate to the equivalent of billions, if not trillions more in money that they so clearly do not need. Having said that, why can’t the tax returns merely be withheld from the wealthiest Americans and the deficit be used to fund other programs that are currently underfuned? The money may be owed to them, but if we are going to change America then we have got to stop being so piggish, look out for the interests of the majority of Americans, and take the steps necessary close government loopholes and improve the economy.
think back, if you will, to the days of WWII, when president Franklin Roosevelt conspired the country to unite and work together to build relationships and strenthen the economy. There were no computers, no internet, and people lead relatively simple, family-oriented lives. People were also looking for change, but instead of just sitting back and waiting for it to happen they took action and worked to produce change, and the fruits of their labor were seen the nation over. It was also one of the most improved periods in the history of the nation. The bottom line is that we as Americans HAVE to be willing to work, and work together if we want change. The majority of Americans CANNOT just hear the message, and then sit back and not get involved. I honestly think that the only way to produce real change is to get rid of the internet and other mediums that have enabled Americans to evade the issues and brought them to their current pessimistic mindset.
sadly, it has gotten to the point where it is next to impossible to produce change, or even get anything started, without having any money, whether it be money for transportation or other expenses, so most Americans would not even know where to begin on such an endeavor, which is likely why no one gets involved. In most cases they are getting no help financially, especially when existing groups are trying to raise money, and no one is willing to help them, so they just give up. This is something else that needs to change. The government needs to work with us, rather than against us, to produce the change that we so desperately want and need. I don’t know how this can possibly be done, but if anyone has any ideas feel free to offer them.

Tax returns are information not cash and we should eliminate government programs starting with public education.
